Global Snr Director Business Development – NA, USA, West Coast

We are searching for a Snr. Director of Business Development, based in NA, West Coast to support the growth and further development of the Bluebee Genomics Platform and services offering.

As the Director of Business Development, you will engage with Bluebee partners, customers and prospects to develop new business and gain new business insights in high-growth genomics markets and domains.

You will define and proactively work with the leadership team and support the sales and marketing team, to achieve long term growth and meeting annual revenue and profitability goals.

You will drive new business with a consultative selling and solution-oriented approach.

Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, you will ensure all decisions are backed by an accurate understanding of the market and how to solve not only the market challenges of today, but those that we anticipate five years from now.

A strong understanding of NGS applications, the clinical genomics market, and digital healthcare spectrum is critical. You will work with and lead activities across a broad spectrum of the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Define an overall business development strategy that will drive the long-term growth of the organization;

Develop strategic collaborations and partnerships, prospect for new markets and develop business cases and studies to drive new markets in line with the corporate company strategy;

Demonstrate stake holder management within large and complex organizations, key accounts, and large-scale population sequencing initiatives;

Establish and maintain successful relationships with key customers and strategic partners, ensuring long lasting relationships and customer satisfaction;

Obtain and disseminate competitive intelligence across all markets and product lines;

Analyze existing markets in terms of the ability to compete, gain market share, grow revenue and sustain or grow profitability;

Extend Bluebee’s market share by developing a deep understanding of the market needs and internalizing the voice of the market;

Collaborate with Sales and Product Management to develop effective sales channels in line with the product road map;

Establish effective relationship with cross-functional teams : Sales, Marketing, Operations and Product Development;

Responsible (in collaboration with sales) for the development of the company’s revenue forecast;

Assist in developing and maintaining financial, unit forecasting, and pricing models.

Position Requirements:

Master (or equivalent through experience) in biochemistry, biotechnology, biomedical, bioengineering sciences or related field;

Strong understanding of genomics and preferably direct experience in serving a core market for the company—B2B with assay manufacturers, clinical genomics, high-throughput service labs, clinical trials, or other relevant experience;

10+ years sales or business development experience in a life sciences/healthcare technology driven company, showing functional leadership; software as a service experience is a plus;

Experience in strategic planning and collaboration with executive, sales, product development, and across marketing functions;

Proven success and track record as an individual who has grown top line results ;

Strong technical knowledge of computational biology, bioinformatics, genomics, NGS, library preparation, data analysis and interpretation; deep knowledge of the clinical market and customer needs for bioinformatics data solutions, market drivers and moderators, regulatory landscape; previous global experience is a plus;

Strong business skills including the ability to identify new, sustainable sources of revenue and synthesize a decisive path forward based on all available information;

Demonstrated success working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment;

Must have customer-facing experience, consultative selling experience with a solution-oriented approach;

Experience working in cross-functional teams comprising various internal organizations;

Must have experience creating financial models and setting pricing policies to achieve market share objectives;

Willing to travel up to 40%.

Global Snr/Dir Product Management – NA, USA, San Francisco Bay Area or West Coast

BlueBee is seeking a dynamic Director/Senior Director of Product Management based in San Francisco Bay Area or West Coast, CA, USA, to bring to market the next level of BlueBee Genomics Platform technology and fit-for-purpose solutions offering.

As the Product Management lead for software solutions, you will own and drive the product roadmap for a portfolio comprised of customer-centric solutions in high-growth genomics markets and domains.

You will be responsible for numerous aspects of the software products’ life cycle, including: market assessment and defining new product requirements, driving development through to completion, working with early access customers, launch activities, and supporting customers and commercial activity.

You will define and proactively work with the leadership team to drive product and market strategies that position the business unit to achieve long term growth, while meeting annual revenue and profitability goals. Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, you will ensure all decisions are backed by an acute understanding of the market and how to solve not only the market challenges of today, but those that we anticipate 2/5/10 years from now. You will ensure with the CMO that resources are in place to drive your strategy and act on opportunity.

Drive efforts with product and business development to define an overall product and technology portfolio strategy that will drive the long-term growth of the organization

Align strategic product roadmaps with corresponding marketing plans

Obtaining and disseminating competitive intelligence across all markets and product lines

Analyze existing product and markets in terms of the ability to compete, gain market share, grow revenue and sustain or grow profitability

Collaborate with Sales, Business Development to define effective sales channels of all products

Bioinformatician

THE ROLE

This is a central role in BlueBee’s R&D department based in Rijswijk, the Netherlands. Your scientific understanding and knowledge will be used in the context of assembling, configuring, optimizing, and/or implementing NGS pipelines. As the bioinformatician you will also provide scientific consultancy to some of our (clinical, (bio)medical) customers as well as various departments within the company. You will also be involved in pre-sales and other activities, to bring new customers on-board by providing expertise on BlueBee’s services. Internally, you will proactively communicate customers’ needs and requirements with product management.

ABOUT YOU

Based in Rijswijk, the Netherlands, BlueBee is experiencing rapid growth and is searching for the best talent to join our bioinformatics team. The ideal Bioinformatician will have the following traits and skills:

  • You will have a bioinformatics degree with hands-on experience with bioinformatics tools/algorithms (such as alignment – BWA, variant calling – GATK, Freebayes…). Your profound knowledge in tertiary analysis will be used to set up and run pipelines from scratch (e.g. DNA and RNA-Seq), making use of various programming languages (e.g. Python, Perl, R, Java, Unix/Linux scripting)
  • You are confident and able to setup NGS pipelines from scratch, in different domains.
  • A PhD degree is not required, however, you must have working experiences in novel data-driven discovery practices.
  • First-hand knowledge of the NGS market (clinical, biomedical, food, crops, and/or microbial) is considered as a plus
  • You are flexible and keen to face customers and are able to successfully handle pre-sales and on-boarding projects
  • Astute, confident, and comfortable in asking the right questions, you are truly able to work in a consultative way with clients and to contribute to BlueBee’s overall success.
  • You are keen to work in a multi-disciplinary environment where engineering, development and science come together
  • You are able to travel.

Field Application Scientist

THE ROLE

This is a central role in the organization providing domain expertise to the various departments within the company. You will be involved in pre- and post- sales, to win and on-board new customers by providing domain specialist expertise and customer service on the BlueBee solution. Within this context, you will work in close collaboration with the sales department and customer operations to assemble, (re)configure, optimize, and implement NGS pipelines provided, or requested, by BlueBee customers. In addition, you will proactively communicate customers’ needs and requirements with product management. Connecting the dots between the technical and the scientific requirements of projects is elemental to the success of this position. You will be reporting to the COO.

The position will be based in the US.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

The ideal candidate must have the following traits and skills:

  • M.S .Bioinformatics or related field or applicable experience.
  • Hands-on experience with bioinformatics tools/algorithms (such as alignment – BWA, variant calling – GATK, Freebayes…).
  • A profound knowledge on secondary analysis will be used to set up and run pipelines (e.g. DNA and RNA-Seq), making use of various programming languages (e.g. Python, Perl, R, Java, Unix/Linux scripting).
  • Good knowledge of the NGS market.
  • Keen to face customers and are able to successfully handle projects.
  • An entrepreneurial and commercial mindset, you thrive in a fast paced and customer driven environment, with a clear focus on meeting customer expectations and delivering results.
